We’re in love with almost all V-Moda headphones. They’re quickly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with an in-ear bud, fashioning headphones that are both classy and audiophile quality. We’re enamored with the combination, and the Vibrato model is no different. These in-ear buds not only smash us upside the face with sleek packaging, but incredible sound performance, as well. For the full scoop on these little black beauties, check below for our full headphone review.
Design and Comfort
For whatever reason, V-Moda has decided to shape the barrel of each and every one of their in-ear headphones like a hexagon: We’re pleased to say the Vibrato is no different. We dig the shape, and though it might sound uncomfortable at first, the thick and luxurious in-ear pad is amply spacious, and tends to fit quite comfortably. Furthermore, the cable itself can be wrapped behind the ear, or simply left dangling. We tended to prefer the former, as it created a much more efficient seal with our noggin. Overall, we greatly adored the look of the Vibratos, too. They’re sleek, black, and concise, sporting a smoothbore look that we can’t get enough of. The cable is also a bit softer than we’re used to seeing with V-Moda, which sounds like a strange compliment, but makes much more sense during a workout. However, we weren’t as big of fans of the leather carrying case, which we found lackluster and somewhat cheap. All in all, though it’s another solid and classy offering from a company we respect more and more with each new offering.
Sound Performance and Audio Quality
With every additional test we perform, we find that V-Moda tends to focus on the bass more than most. The Vibratos are no different, allowing for quite a lot of booming low-end, which may annoy some users. However, we also noticed a rather warm and open sound with the earbuds. They aren’t nearly as good as a top-end Bose open-ear design, but then again, we hardly expected them to be. For all the quality, though, we did find the high mids a little tinny, and the totally high-freqs somewhat crunched. It’s not unbearable, but considering how incredible the low-end is, we expected slightly more.

Overall Value
At $120 on the market, the V-Moda Vibrato headphones is a pretty incredible steal. The sound is exactly on target for the price range, and it comes wrapped in a simply stupendous package. All in all, if you’re looking for a new go-to model of in-ear earbuds, we could hardly recommend a better steal. However, if you’d like to wait about a year, we have a feeling V-Moda will correct most of the audio issues very soon. We’ve got faith.
